Reverse Circle Two Ball Basketball Dribbling Drill

 

This is a great two ball basketball dribbling drill to work on the reverse between the legs dribble move and develop both hands simultaneously. Unless a player is corrected at a very early age, they usually become one hand dominate. Two ball basketball dribbling drills help the player to develop both hands and eliminate the strong and weak hand situation.

It is important that when the player does this basketball drill that they are pushing themselves and getting out of their comfort zones. To get the most out of basketball dribbling drills like this, the player must not be afraid to mess up and lose the basketball. If they are going half speed and never turn the ball over, the drill doesn’t work very well.

Goals of the Drill

  • Improve hand-eye coordination, work on developing quick hands, and improve overall ball handling.

 

Coaching Points

  • Stay low in an athletic stance the entire time, and do your best not to look down while doing the move.
  • Get out of your comfort zone, and don’t be afraid to make a mistake or mess up.

 

Basketball Drill Instructions

  • Stand with your legs spread and a ball in each hand.
  • Dribble both basketballs at the same time and then begin wrapping both basketballs around your right leg.
  • One ball will go reverse between your legs while the other goes in front of your leg.
  • Take a stationary pound dribble, and then repeat the move.
  • Continue this pattern for 30 seconds and then switch legs and repeat.
