Drill Name: Tight Spaces Between the Legs Basketball Drill

Equipment Needed: 1 basketball and 5 cones.

Goals of the Drill

  • Develop your handles and learn to keep the basketball tight to your body.

 

Coaching Points

  • Stay low in an athletic stance while dribbling through the cones.
  • Keep your eyes up and push yourself to go as quickly as you can.
  • Be explosive once you get past the last cone.

 

Basketball Drill Instructions

  • Place a row of 5 cones (each about a foot apart) at half-court, heading towards the top of the key.
  • The player is going to start at half court with a basketball.
  • He/she will take a rhythm dribble and then do a between the legs move at each cone.
  • After the last cone, they will attack the basket for a finish or shoot a pull-up jump shot.

** The coach can predetermine the finish if desired.
