Handling the ball with either hand comfortably adds so much value to a player’s game. It allows the player to read the defense and then take what is given, rather than worry about only being able to attack with the strong hand.
Most players have a dominant hand that they favor during the course of a game and even during workouts. That is why two ball basketball dribbling drills are so great. They don’t allow the player to switch back over to the strong hand if they get in trouble. This basketball dribbling drill will force the player to work on both hands simultaneously and then also be able to quickly react to what the other player is doing as well.

Basketball Drill Instructions
- Each player will have two basketballs.
- One player will be on the baseline under the basket facing out towards the court, and the other player will be facing him/her a few feet away.
- When the drill starts, both players will begin dribbling their basketballs.
- The player facing out towards the court will decide which way to dribble (right, left, forward, or backward), and the player facing them will mirror whatever way they go.
- The goal is to stay in front of the leader the whole time.
- If either player loses a ball, the other player will wait for them and then resume the drill.
- You can do this basketball drill for a set amount of time or until the leader reaches the other side of the court.
