Great rebounders are also great at anticipation. They are able to quickly realize if a shot is going to be short, long, left, or right. From here they are able to position themselves to have the best chance of getting the board. Being able to do this has a lot to do with instinct, but it also can be developed through practice. The anticipation rebounding drill is going to work on being able to locate a miss quickly and then track down the ball.
This drill is going to be a combination of working on shooting as well as rebounding. One player will get to work on their shot, while the other player is able to work on anticipation and tracking down missed shots. It is a great basketball drill for maximizing time and allowing both players to work on a specific skill at the same time.
