When you play in the post you don't always have to try and score with your back to the basket. Some times it is better to take your man out to 10-12 feet, face them up in triple threat position, and then go from there. This basketball drill is going to practice catching the ball in the mid range, facing up the defender, and then raising up for the shot.
It is important that you really focus on the footwork of the move, and then getting into your shot quickly. Your footwork will provide the space that you need to get your shot off, and shooting it quickly will keep the defender from contesting it as well. Being able to hit this little shot makes the defender have to respect you, and that will open up other scoring moves that you can use.
