Footwork is a huge indicator on whether a shot is going to go in or not. The better and more efficient a players footwork is coming into their shot, the more chance they will have of making that shot. That is why it is important to not only work on stationary catch and shoot shots when doing basketball training, but also work on coming into shots from different spots on the floor.
The X Out Shooting Drill is going to work on coming into your shot correctly and then doing it the same way every time. This consistency will really help to develop good footwork habits that will transfer over to a game. This drill also allows the other players in the drill to work on rebounding, and then making on time on target passes to the shooter.
