This basketball play is run out of the box set formation, and the goal is get a shot off of the second down screen. However, once you have gotten this a couple times you can set them up and the use the counter. The defense will be expecting the same action, and will jump to cut it off, and this will set up the counter play. It is important to have counters to different plays in your offense because it helps keep the defense honest.
Play Name: Chicago Bulls: Pin Down with Counter Play
Play Goal: Get a shot in the middle of the paint or set your defender up and get a shot on the short corner baseline.
Tips: It is up to the cutter to make the read on which screen they come off. If your man is trying to deny you the down screen or is jumping to the screen use the counter action.
