A good basketball play doesn’t have to be complex or involve 15 different screens, but it does require the players to execute it the right way. This is a simple baseline double screen play for a good shooter. It is not elaborate at all. It is all about how well your team pays attention to details and executes. Make sure that your screeners are head hunting on the screens and not just standing. This will determine whether the shooter gets a good look or not.
Play Name: Duke: Baseline Double Screen Basketball Play
Similar Plays: Duke: Ball Screen/Baseline Double Basketball Play, Pitt Panthers: Baseline Double/Single Screen Basketball Play (11-12), Duke: Double Screen Low Basketball Play
Play Goal: Get the shooter an open look in the corner off of the baseline double.
Play Tips: Screeners need to head hunt and hit the shooters defender with a good screen. If the shooter’s defender goes over the screen the shooter should fade to the corner and if the defender chases on the screen the shooter should curl or straight cut.
