This basketball shooting drill is going to help work on the post player coming into a trail shot from different positions on the floor. During transition or a semi fast break there is usually going to be an offensive post player that is trailing the play, and sometimes the defense does not do a good job of getting matched up with the trailing post player. This is when this type of shot is going to be used.
It is important though that the post player is comfortable coming into his/her shot while moving forward at a game speed. It is a different feel than simply catching and shooting, so it is important that you get plenty of repetitions at this particular type of shot. Along with being able to get a lot of repetitions, basketball drills like this one are great for working on conditioning as well.
