Shooting the basketball on the move is different from just standing and catching the ball for a shot. It takes the proper footwork and preparation before the ball gets to your hands if you want to be a great on the move shooter.
The Ray Allen Series basketball shooting drill is great for teaching the right footwork and then getting a lot of reps at it. Basketball drills like this really work on the player’s preparation before getting the ball; footwork, getting squared up, etc.

- Every shot will be off the straight cut, but there are 3 different combinations of cuts that you can do before coming off for a straight cut shot.
- There is the regular straight cut off one of the chairs.
- Next, you can curl the first chair and come out the other side for a straight cut (figure 8 cut).
- Lastly, you can curl a chair and then get back in the middle of the paint before straight cutting off the same chair.
- After you shoot each time, you are going to start again in the middle of the paint.
- Shoot 8-10 shots per player or go for a certain amount of time.
