If you look at the best point guards in the game you will quickly realize that dribbling the basketball is something that comes second nature to them. They are completely comfortable handling the basketball with either hand and this allows them to read the defense, run offense, and make moves past their defender rather than worrying about dribbling.
This two ball dribbling drill is a little bit more advanced, but it is a really great drill for developing both hands at the same time and also helping the player to really build confidence in handling the ball on the move.

Drill Goal: Work on ball handling and being able to dribble with either hand while moving and changing directions.
Equipment Needed: 2 players and 4 basketballs
Tips: Stay in an athletic stance the whole time and be under control and able to change directions quickly. Keep your eyes up and see what is going on rather than looking at the basketballs.
Directions: Both players are going to have a basketball in each hand. One player is going to be on the baseline under the basket facing out (offense) and the other will be facing the player a few feet away (defense). The offensive player is allowed to dribble in any direction that they choose and change that direction at any time. The defensive player must mirror the movements of the offensive player as best they can. Every time there is a change of direction the players must make a crossover dribble with the basketballs. If either player loses the basketballs the other player will wait for them to gather the basketballs and then start from where they are at. If the offensive player blows by the defensive player, he/she will wait for them to recover and then continue. The drill goes until the players reach the opposite baseline.
