When a guard penetrates down the lane and the other teams post defender steps up to help on the drive, a great option is for the guard to dump the ball off to the big man for a finish. However, a lot of times big men struggle to catch the ball and then finish. This basketball post move drill is going to simulate this action, and work on helping the big man; space, catch the ball, and then finish before the defense can recover.
When you watch the video make sure that you notice how the player is spacing on the drive, but as the ball is coming towards them they are stepping in, catching, and finishing all in one motion. Don't catch the ball and then move to finish, that is too slow and will allow the defense to recover. The reason that the player is going to use his/her inside hand to finish is because they are mixing it up for the shot blocker and they are simply trying to get the ball up on the backboard before the shot blocker can rotate over.
