T Change Direction Basketball Drill


This basketball workout is good because it incorporates a few different things for the player to work on simultaneously. The things that it will work on is; starting quickness, deceleration, side to side speed, and the back peddle movement. This basketball speed and agility workout works on all of the different directions and makes it easy to measure the player’s improvement by timing them on each attempt.

Basketball Drill Instructions

  • The 4 cones are set up in the shape of a “T,” and the player starts at the bottom of the “T.”
  • He will start in an athletic position, sprint up to the middle cone, shuffle out right or left to the outside cone, shuffle back to the opposite cone, shuffle to the middle cone, and then back peddle to the start cone.
